I currently serve as a development officer for Northeastern University (since November 2006). Prior to that, I worked at City Year for nearly 12 years in a variety of roles. Prior to that, I was on the staff of COOL as the National Meetings Director with responsibility for planning COOL's national conferences and summits. I planned three national conferences (1992, 1993, 1994) and two national summits (1992, 1993). I also managed the logistics for City Year's first national convention in 1995. I was first introduced to COOL when I was a student leader at UCLA. We hosted the COOL Conference in 1990. I have attended about a dozen COOL Conferences over the years. In addition to planning conferences, my main area of content expertise that I developed and refined during my COOL years was how to develop strong, comprehensive, sustainable student-run community service programs. I had always felt that the number one priority that COOL should have had was to help campuses build stronger community service programs.
