NOTES Re Idaho State:

Hello Heather:

I have been able to gather a lot of info, but not all that I wanted for you. I do think that I have enough for you to consider, however.

• We do have the Performing Arts Center Scheduled, and it holds 1200. That would cost $500.

• We have the entire Student Union Building for $300/day. There are 8 conference rooms, dining facilities, ballroom (seats 900), gallery, 4 hotel rooms in the Union, Craft Shop, Outdoor Adventure Center, large lounges, etc.

• I am waiting to hear from Facilities to find out how much classrooms would charge if anything.

• We have a new 25,000 sq. foot Rendezvous Center with new and high tech classrooms, meeting rooms, C. Store, food venues, and student housing. It is beautiful and just across the street from our Union. It just opened last week.

• The Conference & Visitors Bureau is most supportive and said that they could provide a free meal for all attendees, comp rooms for key note speakers, shuttles from SLC Airport, shuttles for around town. Raul Cano will send out a booklet to each of your committee members with what they can do.

• We have the Portneuf Brewery just off campus, and I would bet that they would make a special brew for the occasion. I am one of the Homecoming Parade Chairs, and they brew a special homecoming brew for us each year.

• Just down from the Brewery is a new Tapas Restaurant and Wine Shop, Fish Market, Food Co-op, and Palates Studio.

• We are located on I-15, we are on the way to Yellowstone National Park (2 hours), Teton National Park (2.5 hours), Park City & Alta in the Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains (2 hours), Sun Valley is 4 hours north and west of here, and the Sawtooth Recreation Area is up the road from Sun Valley about 1hour.

Raul would like to send you a booklet with all that they can do for us. He does need an absolute date, so would the conference start on a Friday? Thursday? I would say that it would need to be the end of our spring break, if so. That would be March 27, 28, 29, 30.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Linda
